Course Description This course is designed to understand common medical terminology used in the field of Massage Therapy. Medical Terminology can be difficult to master and involves more than just memorization. The human body is complex and is made up of different systems, all carrying different terminology. In order to understand medical terminology, the prefix and suffix of words need to be identifiable. This course will teach the therapist the ability to make sense of these words and to understand that Medical Terminology is an entirely different language. Objective Upon successful completion of this class, the student should be able to: •Understand the history behind Medical Terminology •Identify body systems •Understand the reason behind the terms •Speak intelligently with other health care professionals •Match terminology with each system of the body •Break down medical terms for procedures •Recognize and Pronounce many common words used in today’s Medical Field Student must score 70% or better on the test (10 questions) and complete course evaluation to earn a Certificate of Achievement for this CEU class.
