Sexuality and Addiction

Course overview

The intersection of sexuality and addiction occurs when we use drugs or addictive behaviors to intensify sex and/or avoid true intimacy. When we use drugs or stimulating behaviors to a point where our ability to engage in sexual behavior is impaired or to escape memories of traumatic sexual experiences, our sexual lives will suffer. This workshop will explore and explain the many points of this intersection and describe interventions for developing healthy sexual feelings and behavior in recovery from addiction.
