Course overview
This is a course specifically aimed to teach health professionals that are working with clients dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction, including weakness, injury, or autonomic dysfunction. It covers background on the pelvic floor and related issues. It addresses how to support pelvic floor clients to maximize comfort in working with a very sensitive area, how to assess their dysfunction and associated health needs, and how to design a pelvic floor recovery program. Additionally, it offers a variety of exercises and techniques that will specifically support recovery. Participants will learn how to use TECAR therapy devices to support and enhance the recovery process for pelvic floor issues. This course is given in person, with a mix of lecture, workshop, and discussion groups. The content will be divided into 1.5 hour sections, and will be covered in 2 days, for a total of 15 hours of training/CEUs (7.5 on each day). Most topics will include some demonstrations and practical discussion or practice. After the completion of the in person content, participants will engage in a practical assessment to determine their integration of the material. They will be provided with additional take home materials for review and reference.
