The ABCs and 123s of Veterinary Dentistry; Pre-anesthesia to Procedure

Course overview

This lecture is designed to engage participants while broadening their understanding of the importance of veterinary dentistry. During this session, participants will recall practical steps of the pre-anesthetic work up and review communication tools to aid in explaining the value of dental procedures to clients. The session will finish by beginning to prepare the veterinary team for anesthesia monitoring during dental procedures, a most requested topic. As veterinary technicians and assistants become more confident in their abilities to recognize issues and respond to them, their confidence will show in the exam room when talking with clients as they approach dentistry conversations and advocate for the pet.
