Self Understanding, Understanding Counseling Procedures and SUD

Course overview

This seminar will address clinical functions, methodologies, skills, techniques, and tools essential for all counselors. Participants will learn about the challenges of treating people who with substance use disorders and come from marginalized populations and communities. They will learn about establishing healthy therapeutic alliances, strength-based and collaborative treatment approaches, appropriate consultations/collaborations and the use of self in the counseling engagement process. Moreover, this section will focus on providing services in culturally intelligent and linguistically appropriate, with a focus on delivering counseling and treatment that is equitable.
