Tracking # 20-1343599
Course overview
In this 2-part course, Bob Flaws presents two digestive disorders commonly seen in the modern clinic: GERD (Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disorder) and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Part 1 of this course asks "What is GERD and who does it affect?" This class teaches participants basic western medical diagnosis and treatment; Chinese medical disease categorization and mechanisms, including causes; treatment based on pattern discrimination; and effective acupuncture, medicinals, and formulas for the treatment of GERD. In Part 2 of this course, participants are introduced to IBS, or allergic or mucus colitis. The good news is that theres only one pattern seen in most IBS cases. If clinicians understand this pattern, then the condition is relatively simple to treat. In this class, Bob presents this pattern and its most common complications, and how to treat it using acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and diet and lifestyle modification.
