Course overview

This course discusses the occupational therapists (OTs) role in working with patients with Alzheimers disease. Topics include aspects of Alzheimers disease and related dementias (ADRDs), the impact the OT can have on the life of the person with dementia and their caregiver, and some OT-implemented interventions designed to improve the wellbeing of persons with dementia. There are also discussions about Alzheimer's and the brain, evidence-based occupational therapy (EBOT), and the OT's role during and after a patient's dementia diagnosis.
