Vestibular migraine is the second most common cause of vertigo and one of the most frequently misdiagnosed and improperly managed, placing the patient at risk of injury, and exposing the chiropractic physician to potential for malpractice liability. This course will review the anatomy and physiology of the brain and ear as it relates to vertigo. Causes and symptom presentation will be presented as well as the differential diagnoses frequently encountered. The emergence of new technologies have shown promise in documenting the evolution of the migraine process; these will be updated for attendees. Evaluation and testing procedures will be thoroughly presented. Current treatment including vestibular rehabilitation, lifestyle modification, and medications presented.
