This course is a didactic lecture reviewing definitions, mechanisms of TBI, diagnosis, and treatment options. Class participation will be encouraged. Case management/ studies will be presented and with small group discussion and sharing. The attendee will become familiar with current definitions and mechanisms. Examination procedures both in the field and in the office, as well as advanced diagnostic procedures will be presented. The attendee will learn simple evidenced-based management procedures that can be used in office by general providers, and will be able to recognize when to refer appropriately to maximize efficacy, recovery, and cost effectiveness.
