Course overview
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a dilatation of the wall of the abdominal aorta of at least 50%. Although some AAAs remain the same size after formation, enlargement is common and is associated with increased risk for aneurysm rupture, a life-threatening medical emergency. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of AAA, including etiology, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for a patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
