Course overview
Agitation is a state of extreme arousal, tension, irritability, and/or excessive psychomotor activity. Healthcare clinicians are likely to encounter patients who are or will become agitated, and agitation is associated with slower recovery times and increased rates of institutionalization, morbidity, and mortality. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of agitation, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
