Course overview
Agoraphobia is a phobic disorder characterized by anxiety about being in a place or situation from which escape would be embarrassing or there is no escape route. Characteristic triggers include being alone in public, being in a crowd, standing in line, traveling, being on a bridge or in an elevator, and any situation that is perceived as being too physically restricted or too exposed. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of agoraphobia, including its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
