Course overview
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC; also called basal cell epithelioma) is the most common malignancy in humans. It is a slow-growing nonmelanomatous skin tumor that generally appears on chronically sun-exposed areas, such as the face and neck. BCC arises from the cells of the lower epidermis. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of BCC, its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
