Course overview

Chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) is the loss of hair as an adverse effect of receiving chemotherapy. CIA is the thinning or loss of hair on any part of the body that occurs 2–3 weeks following the initiation of chemotherapy. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of relevant research on the general principles of caring for a patient with CIA, including why this is important and information to provide to the patient’s family. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
