Course overview

Administration of medication via I.V. push or I.V. bolus entails delivery of a small volume of medication directly into the venous circulation. An I.V. bolus is the parenteral administration of a concentrated dose of medication, usually over 1–5 minutes. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of how to administer medication by I.V. bolus or push. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
