BELIMUMAB (BENLYSTA)

Course overview

Belimumab is U.S. FDA-approved to treat active, autoantibody-positive systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in adults receiving standard therapy (≥ 1 of corticosteroids, immunosuppressives, antimalarials). It must be used cautiously in older patients, Black patients, and patients with a history of depression or other mental illness. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of belimumab. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
