Course overview
Burns to the eyelid, cornea, conjunctiva, and sclera are ocular burns, which are classified into two types: chemical injuries, caused by exposure to alkaline or acid agents, and radiant injuries, resulting from exposure to thermal heat or ultraviolet (UV) rays. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of how to care for the patient with ocular burns. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
