Bone metastases are malignant tumors that develop in the bones secondary to a primary, usually solid tumor. Among solid tumors, bone metastases occur most commonly from breast cancer and prostate cancer. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of orthopedic management and rehabilitation for patients with bone metastases, including its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment of bone metastases, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
