Course overview
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a disorder of emotional regulation characterized by a distorted and rapidly changing self-image, lack of inner direction, instability of emotion and interpersonal relationships, and impulsivity. BPD symptoms usually first appear by late adolescence, but the condition has been diagnosed in children. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of current knowledge about BPD in children and adolescents, including information on its causes, prevalence, and treatment strategies. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
