CAPECITABINE (XELODA)

Course overview

Capecitabine is U.S. FDA-approved to treat certain types of colon cancer and metastatic breast cancer. It must be used cautiously in older patients, and in patients with mild/moderate renal impairment, hepatic impairment secondary to liver metastases, bone marrow suppression, history of extensive pelvic radiation or alkylating agent therapy, or history of coronary artery disease. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of capecitabine. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
