Course overview
A central venous catheter (CVC) is used for vascular access to facilitate the delivery of fluids, medications, nutrition, blood products, to permit monitoring of hemodynamic pressures, and to obtain blood specimens without multiple punctures. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of non-tunneled CVC removal, including nursing responsibilities. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
