Course overview

Cervical cancer (CC) arises from the cells that line the surface of the cervix (i.e., the lower narrow part of the uterus) and typically develops slowly, starting with dysplasia (i.e., a condition that is characterized by abnormal cellular development) or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), a precancerous condition. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of CC during pregnancy, including its symptoms, stages of CC, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
