CIPROFLOXACIN (CIPRO)

Course overview

Ciprofloxacin is U.S. FDA-approved to treat infections (e.g., urinary tract, lower respiratory tract, skin/skin structure) caused by susceptible bacteria. It must be used cautiously in older patients, children, and in patients with alkalinized urine, strenuous physical activity, seizure disorders/risk factors for seizures, renal impairment/failure, hepatic impairment, or history of tendon disorders. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of ciprofloxacin. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
