Course overview
Assisting with circumcision is a nursing responsibility that involves assessing and monitoring the newborn prior to, during, and after the procedure, organizing the surgical tray for the procedure, and educating parents about what to expect during and after the procedure. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of assisting with circumcision, steps of the procedure, and parent education concerning circumcision. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
