CLAUSTROPHOBIA AND MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI)

Course overview

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive diagnostic tool used in the assessment of many types of injuries and conditions. In most cases, MRI scanning requires placement of a patient in a small, tunnel-like chamber in the center of a large magnet for a considerable length of time. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of claustrophobia and MRI, including its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
