BIPOLAR DISORDER: ELECTROCONVULSIVE THERAPY

Course overview

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic psychiatric disorder characterized by recurrent, alternating episodes of mania (BD I) and depression (BD II). Treatment includes psychotropic agents, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychoeducation. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of current knowledge about the causes and prevalence of bipolar disorder and details of treatment with ECT. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
