Course overview
Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic psychiatric disorder, usually presenting in the early teens or 20s, characterized by recurrent, alternating episodes of depression and mania. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of medications used during pregnancy in the treatment of BD, including the continuation of medication during pregnancy, and the harmful effects of medication to the fetus, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
