Course overview
The Situation-Background-Assessment-Recommendation (SBAR) is a framework that provides structure for communication between clinicians. SBAR was designed primarily to promote patient safety during urgent patient care situations by structuring health care information into a logical sequence, but the technique also benefits clinicians in that it makes communication more readily understood and more efficient. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of how to communicate using the SBAR technique. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
