Course overview
A condom catheter (CC), also called a penile sheath, is a urinary incontinence device used by males with urinary incontinence that consists of a soft, flexible sleeve worn over the penis. The CC directs urine into a collection bag that is attached to the body (e.g., to the leg [leg bag]) or to the side of the bed. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of relevant research on the general principles of selecting and fitting a CC, including why CCs are used, patient safety when selecting and fitting a CC, and how to select and fit a CC. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
