Course overview
A fecal ostomy appliance, also called enterostomy device is designed to collect fecal material from an ostomy site. A fecal ostomy appliance is a device that is affixed to the abdomen for effluent collection in a patient with an ostomy (i.e. a permanent or temporary surgical opening between a body cavity and body surface, also called a stoma). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of different types of fecal ostomy appliances. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
