CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS GRAFT SURGERY: POSTOPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS

Course overview

Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery is a myocardial revascularization procedure used in the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). CABG surgery consists of construction of new conduits for circulation that bypass clogged coronary arteries, allowing for improved blood flow and oxygen delivery to the heart muscle. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of postoperative complications of CABG surgery, including risk factors for postoperative complications and techniques that may reduce the risk of postoperative complications, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
