FUSIDIC ACID (FUCIDIN)

Course overview

Fusidic acid is used in combination with other antibiotics to treat acute/chronic osteomyelitis and skin/soft tissue infections caused by penicillin-sensitive and penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacteria, Bordetella pertussis, Bacteroides (except B. fragilis), Propionibacteria, and Clostridia in adults and children. It must be used cautiously in patients with hepatic impairment or jaundice. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of fusidic acid. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
