Ellis-van Creveld syndrome (EVC), also known as chondroectodermal dysplasia, is a rare congenital autosomal recessive disorder characterized by dwarfism with short-limbs, postaxial polydactyly (extra digits), ectodermal dysplasia, urogenital abnormalities, a small chest, congenital heart defects, oropharyngeal abnormalities, and normal cognitive development. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of EVC, its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for patients with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
