Course overview
Gynecomastia is defined as excessive development of glandular breast tissue in males and is characterized by the hormone imbalance of decreased testosterone levels and increased estrogen levels. The breast exam reveals a palpable firm, rubbery disk of tissue 0.5 cm or more in diameter under the nipple. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of gynecomastia, its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment for patients with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
