Course overview

The purpose of obtaining informed consent (IC)—whether written, verbal, or implied—is to verify that patients have been fully informed of treatment options and the potential risks associated with those options. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of obtaining IC, including the step-by-step process. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
