Course overview

Migraine headaches (MHs) are severe, recurrent, long-lasting headaches that may occur with or without an aura (i.e., visual or sensory disturbances occurring 1 hour prior to the onset of the headache). MHs tend to be unilateral and pulsatile and are associated with nausea, vomiting, photophobia, and phonophobia. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of MH, including its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
