Infant massage has been practiced informally for many years as a part of traditional parenting styles in cultures around the world, and within the last 30 years, infant massage has become more popular in the United States and Europe as scientific findings that support its use have become known. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of infant massage, including the benefits of infant massage for the caregiver and infant and the use of certain massage techniques that are linked with improved outcomes and comfort. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
