High-frequency hearing loss (HFHL) is the most common form of hearing impairment. It is a type of sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) resulting from damage to the cochlea or to the nerve pathways from the inner ear to the brain. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of high-frequency hearing loss, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
