Course overview

Jarcho-Levin syndrome (JLS) is a rare and usually autosomal recessive disorder. JLS is characterized by a short trunk, malformations of the spinal vertebrae and rib cage, respiratory insufficiency, minor facial abnormalities, urogenital anomalies, anal anomalies, congenital heart disease, hydrocephalus, neural tube defects associated with incomplete closure of the spine and anomalies of the craniovertebral junction. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of JLS, its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for patients with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
