Course overview

In children, growth and development have a significant impact on the pharmacokinetic effects of medications. Prescribing errors occur in pediatric care more frequently than in any other subset of healthcare due to failure to consider the effect of variations in growth and development on medication absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of how to prevent medication errors in pediatric care. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
