Course overview

Poor oral health can have a negative effect on a person’s daily life. Dental plaque, periodontal disease, and plaque build-up can lead to various dental and health issues that can exacerbate a patient’s existing health issues. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of oral care of the hospitalized patient, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
