Course overview
In spite of treatment advances that have increased the life expectancy of many melanoma patients, melanoma remains the second among cancers as a cause of lost years of potential life (adult leukemia is highest). Following diagnosis and continuing for the remainder of their lives, all melanoma survivors must adapt to living with a life-threatening disease and cope with the fear of recurrence. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of relevant research on coping with melanoma through spiritual and religious beliefs to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
