Course overview
Melanoma is a highly malignant form of cancer that arises from melanocytes, pigmented cells that are found primarily on the skin. Over 90% of melanomas develop in cutaneous tissue. Melanoma accounts for less than 5% of skin tumors, but is the leading cause of skin cancer death. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the effect of melanoma education on the prevention of melanoma. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
