Teaching parents about basic safety for infants and toddlers (ages birth to 3 years) is the process of educating parents to increase their knowledge of the safety needs of infants and toddlers and to improve their skills in creating and maintaining a safe environment for their child during the early stages of development. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of parent teaching about basic safety for infants and toddlers, including a step-by-step process and the benefits of parent education on this topic. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
