PAIN MANAGEMENT IN CHILDREN

Course overview

Pain relief and prevention in children—an essential component of treatment for many childhood disease conditions—may be managed by primary care clinicians or various specialty clinicians, including pediatric pain management clinician specialists. Pain is often under-recognized and inadequately treated in children. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of pain management in children, including signs and symptoms of pain, and pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions for pain, and to aid in caring for the pediatric patient with pain. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
