Course overview

Nocturnal enuresis (NE; commonly known as bedwetting) is the repeated voiding of urine into the bed during the night while sleeping. Based on the American Academy of Pediatrics diagnostic criteria, wetting must occur at least twice weekly for at least 3 months or have a negative impact on other important areas of functioning, and the child must be at least 5 years old or have a mental age of 5. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner information about teaching parents about NE in children. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
