Course overview
Teaching adolescents and children about sleep hygiene (sleep habits) techniques is the process of educating adolescents and children to increase their knowledge about basic behavioral practices that promote good sleep quality, adequate sleep duration, and full daytime alertness, improve their skills in implementing sleep hygiene techniques, and enhance their ability to cope with sleep problems. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the procedure for providing patient education to adolescents and children about sleep hygiene techniques, including a step-by-step process and the benefits of patient education on this topic. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
