Course overview

An incubator is a device that is used to create an enclosed, temperature-controlled environment for newborns. Preterm and low birth weight infants are cared for inside the incubator, because they are physiologically immature, and unable to maintain body temperature within the normal range. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the procedure for weaning from the incubator. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
