Course overview
There is accumulating evidence that fluctuations in sex hormone levels, symptoms associated with menopause, and other factors, such as the presence of stressful life events, comorbid conditions, and lack of social support, increase the vulnerability of women to depression during the menopausal transition. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of current knowledge about menopause and depression, including etiology, risk factors, and treatment and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
