Course overview

Patient education for the child or adolescent with diabetes mellitus, type 2 (DM2) is broadly defined as the process of providing information to the patient and patient’s family to improve their knowledge of DM2, improve their self-care skills, and enhance their ability to cope with chronic illness. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner information about teaching children or adolescents and their parents about childhood DM2. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
